US Open 2018 Men’s Single Semi Final

As we all know this year’s US Open has seen a lot of new faces in the court, still there are few of our favorites who are still looking forward for this year’s Grand Slam title.

In the first round of 16 Rafal Nadal, M. Cilic, Novak Djokovic, J. Del Potro and few others won against their opponent to make it to the quarter finals. While in the same round of 16, the legendary player Roger Federer lost to his opponent which was a shock for all tennis fans.

As the Quarter final matches started, we saw some amazing shots and misses by the top ATP rankers. Rafal Nadal won against D. Theim, whereas World No. 3 M. Cilic lost to Wold No. 21 K. Nishikori. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic won a straight set against his opponent J. Millman. This match was held today and you could see the dedication and focus with which both the players played. J. Millman was the one who knocked out Roger Federer in the round of 16 matches.

In the first round of Quarter finals that was held yesterday, M. Cilic lost to K Nishikori by 6-2, 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 4-6. In this match Marin was ahead in every sphere but due to bad first serve and complete focus he lost the match. On the other hand, Rafal Nadal had a tough fight with D. Theim. He lost the first set to him and after that won the two consecutive sets. After that he lost to him in the 4th set and finally he won the fifth set winning the quarter finals.

Today’s match was kind of different from the rest as Millman asked Djokovic to change his clothes due to humidity. This was a golden opportunity as after this 10 minutes break Djokovic was all good to  knockout his opponent.

 

It’s going to more amazing to see the first clash of semi finals which is Rafal Nadal verses J. Del Porto. The match will start at 1:30 pm.  It is a much awaited match as two top seeded players will be playing against each other to get through the semi finals. At the same time you can see the second clash between Novak Djokovic and K. Nishikori. People are eagerly waiting for the semi finals to see who wins the seat for the finals. It is tough o decide who will win as all the four players are in a good form and especially Japan’s K. Nishikori. Its’ for the first time he is has reached the semi-finals of any Grand Slam tournaments.
